Thanks to our passionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic volunteer team, we have been able to run 9 successful TEDx events in the past 9 years for high school students in the Greater Toronto Area. TEDxYouth@Toronto believes that positive change in the world comes from empowered youth. To inspire youth, our volunteers are expected to lead by example: with a demonstrated commitment to the organization, a get-it-done attitude, and a collaborative mindset. Speaker Coordinator

The Speaker Coordinator Opportunity

TEDxYouth@Toronto is looking for thought-provoking TEDx speakers and we want your help! We are looking for approachable, relationship-driven Speaker Coordinators to book speakers for our annual event. You will have the creative freedom to reach out to influential thought leaders in industries like business, art, technology, health and wellness, amongst others. You will have the opportunity to coach the speakers and help them develop their TEDx talk. Your successful efforts will put incredible speakers and performers on the TEDxYouth@Toronto stage that will inspire the GTA’s youth.

About the gig: 

  • Research and reach out to potential speakers

  • Help to brainstorm creative new approaches to speaker outreach

  • Coordinate speaker promotion with the Social Media and the Web Development teams

  • Work with the Design Team to organize and update existing speaker outreach and training materials

  • Support speakers in the development of their TEDx talk (topic selection, content, event day preparation, etc.)

  • Build and maintain relationships with speakers leading-up to and after the event

  • Coordinate delivery of speaker packages to prospective and confirmed speakers

  • Reconnect with past speakers for outreach, social media opportunities, and invitations to mini events hosted during the year

  • Work collaboratively with other Speaker Coordinators

  • are comfortable with networking and cold calling

  • have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

  • have event planning experience and an ability to think out of the box

  • have a passion for community development and youth leadership

  • have worked in a non-profit setting

  • love meeting new people and making connections!


Sponsorship Coordinator


The Sponsorship Coordinator Opportunity

TEDxYouth@Toronto is looking for the perfect elevator pitch and we want your help! We are looking for enthusiastic, experienced fundraising coordinators to help raise sponsorship dollars for our annual event. You will own the relationship with your corporate partners and be accountable for contributing to our fundraising goal. You will have the opportunity to help potential donors understand the value of supporting TEDxYouth@Toronto. Your successful efforts are vital to ensuring the success of TEDxYouth@Toronto 2019.

About the gig:

  • Procure financial and in-kind sponsorship to meet the 2019 fundraising goals

  • Research, develop a tailored pitch for, and strategically target potential sponsors

  • attend regular sponsorship meetings to provide updates on fundraising progress and share best practises with the Sponsorship Team

  • Contribute to the maintenance of the Master Sponsorship Contact Database

  • Build on, and update, existing sponsorship material in collaboration with the Design Team

  • Maintain relationships with current and past sponsors, including post-event follow-up and retention

  • Work with sponsors to clarify and manage event day expectations, responsibilities, and logistics
