About this Opportunity

Are you someone who believes in empowering youth to impact their communities both in Canada and abroad? The organizing committee for TEDxYouth@Toronto is looking for a Graphic Designer to work in collaboration with Project Teams to help extend our visual identity and establish a theme for this year’s event. You will help define the creative direction of TEDxYouth@Toronto in our printed and online materials.

Overall Responsibilities

  • Design a new visual identity system (logo, supporting graphics, colours, type etc.) based on the 2013 event theme chosen by the TedxYouth team
  • Work closely with the web team to establish our 2013 theme and other visual identities on our website and other online channels (e.g., twitter page, FB page)
  • Work closely with other teams in carry out the theme on our printer materials, such as Sponsorship Packages, Outreach Packages, Posters, Event Program, etc.
  • Carry out the complete design process from collecting project requirements from other teams, idea conceptualization, design review, printing cost estimation to final deliverable
  • Follow the TEDx brand and design guidelines
  • Ensure design consistency across our printed and online materials
  • Identify new methods to creatively promote and represent the brand of TEDxYouth@Toronto

We are looking for someone who has the following experience/skills:

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suit(Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator) and Microsoft Office (Word and Powerpoint)
  • Professional design experience or education with a portfolio that demonstrates creative work
  • Has preferably worked within a non-profit organization/setting in the past
  • Very passionate about community development and youth leadership
  • A full-time professional with a completed education or a graduate student is preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, and organization skills
  • Web design experience is an asset
